Dear Valued Patient,
We wanted to take a moment to update you on how the current COVID-19 situation in Ontario affects your dental care. We are OPEN and accessible to you during this time, as dental offices are considered an essential service by Public Health due to the importance of your oral health and hygiene.
We have taken a number of precautions in order to maintain a safe, COVID-19 free, environment.
– Pre-appointment screening forms. Before your appointment, we will send you a link to a wellness form. This is to ensure the safety of both our employees and other patients. If you are feeling unwell, or show any symptoms of COVID-19, please get in touch with us to reschedule your appointment.
– Curb-side waiting. To adhere to social distancing rules, we ask that you please wait in your car when you arrive at our office. Check in by calling us at our office phone number, and we will prepare to welcome you for your appointment.
– Increased disinfection. We are increasing how frequently we clean and sanitize our office, and our operatories are sanitized between every appointment, as always. As an added measure, all employees measure their temperature before the start of their shift, and are wearing all PPE in accordance with health unit guidelines.
– Medical grade air filtration systems. We’ve invested in the highest quality air filtration systems to ensure the air you breathe is clean, fresh, and sanitized. This technology uses a 6 stage purification system to capture dust, pollen, VOC’s, gases, mold, allergens, odors, bio-aerosols, viruses, and other pollutants, and includes a negative ion generator to help purify our air.
Prolonged periods between dental cleanings may result in gum disease – both bone loss and gum shrinkage, which can lead to increased sensitivity and tooth mobility. This is something we have already observed in our patients, so if you are due for your hygiene visit or have put your visit off due to COVID concerns, please know we have taken every measure possible to ensure your safety during your visit.
We encourage all our patients to keep their regular scheduled appointments and maintain their best possible oral health as another asset in their fight against COVID-19. This is a challenging time for us all, but we want you to know how much we value your continued trust and support. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our staff at (416) 333-0707, or by email at reception@lairdeglintondental.ca
Stay safe and healthy,
The Laird Eglinton Dental Team
